reflections from our ceo
WOW!! What an amazing year for metro’s other woman® ~ 2014 was packed full of accomplishments, growth, and success… and boy, did we learn a lot. We laughed, cried, stood proud, got silly, and most of all channeled our inner ‘other woman.’ Let’s take some time to reflect back on a few of our most memorable moments from 2014.
And the awards came pouring in!
It all started with winning the prestigious ‘40 Under Forty’ Leadership Award. I am still in disbelief. Winning this award was such an honor! It set the stage for a great year.
I can't express how blessed I am to be a part of this amazing group of winners. I am not worthy!
Next, our Triangle office, won the highly recognized ’50 Best Places to Work’ award. The award luncheon was 80's themed. Simply utter the words ‘theme party’ in front of a Metro’s Other Woman® staff member and it's - go big or go home …and we went BIG!
The folks at TBJ are still gushing over Desmond’s costume!
We are List Makers and how cool is that!?!
Fox NEWS came calling and we answered, of course! Page Crawford didn’t just highlight MOW-Charlotte once, but twice! Check out our Big Feature here: Yo Mama: Rent a Wife Another awesome tidbit: In 2014, metro’s other woman® was published in 17 news articles! Here are a few of our faves:
Team Building was the most fun!
We rock climbed… and I embarrassingly got stuck on the rock wall. (sorry no photo included!) Talk about control issues – I was not about to let go of that wall and suspend down…nope. I climbed up once, walked back down and became a spectator.
Of course, our assistants had a fabulous time and blew me away with their bouldering skills.
The Raleigh staff took a tour on the Trolley Pub. We all had a blast pumping our legs to 90’s music. What a workout! There have been rumored to be a few videos out there; let’s just hope they stay hidden!
Charlotte celebrated its first ‘Staffsgiving’ It was a wonderful evening filled with family, food and fellowship.
I deemed the evening to be a thanksgiving for our staff and their dedication and hard work; however, in turn they gave thanks for the opportunity to help others and work for one of the best places in Charlotte (their words, not mine)
Wait, how many offices did we open?
What an incredible year for growth – we opened two new offices and signed contracts for two more. That makes 6 locations for 2014!! (#5 opens on Tuesday, January 6th and #6 is scheduled for February 10th!) Sadly, we were forced to shut down one of the new offices only after 5 weeks. Good luck to Jess and her family as they prepare to move their family to the SC coast.
Other fun stuff
* Our facebook fan page grew from under 329 fans to 1039! Holy Cow!! * We met some really amazing people and they became our clients. We wish we could share details, but we must remain hush hush – discretion is critical for our line of work.
Final words for 2014 ~ My goodness, 2014 was so good to all of us at metro’s other woman®. I am proud to be the leader and visionary for our brand. What an honor! I truly take care in the fact that we change lives every day. It’s not a responsibility I take lightly. From our clients to our staff to our partners – I love you all and enjoy doing ‘work’ and ‘life’ with you. It can’t get any better than this, right? Or can it?? Well, 2015 is here – so let’s see what’s in store! - xoxo Sarah
