a celebration: 40 under 40 awards luncheon
Earlier this month, we honored our very own Triangle Business Journal 40 Under 40 Winner, Sarah Benken! Each year, 40 professionals under the age of 40 are recognized for their contributions to the community and their organizations. We enjoyed a luncheon and awards ceremony at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary.
As a former Accounting Manager and Business Manager for a number of small businesses, Sarah saw a need for a one stop shop for household and small business needs and a growing need for work/life balance, and Metro’s Other Woman was born! Within the past year Sarah has shifted her work from day to day managing to becoming the visionary for the brand, focusing on growth, creating local partnerships, and critiquing service offerings to closer match client needs. Philanthropy is also important to Sarah and she currently supports Dress for Success, InterAct, The Arc, & Ronald McDonald House.
We couldn’t be more proud of her! A huge thank you to all of you who supported Sarah’s donation efforts for her speech. Each winner was allowed three “free” words, and each additional word raised $25 for Habitat Wake. It was so awesome to learn more about each winner and their path to success. If you believe it, you truly can achieve it! Altogether, the 40 winners’ speeches raised almost $30,000, almost three times what was raised last year.
Here are a few photos from the event:
Congratulations again to all the winners, and a big thank you to Triangle Business Journal.
